The PDF/A Standard

PDF/A is the ISO standard for long-term archiving of electronic documents. Unlike standard PDF, it guarantees the longevity of your documents.

Key requirements:

  • Embedded fonts: All fonts must be embedded in the file
  • Self-contained: No references to external content
  • Standardized colors: Embedded color profiles
  • Metadata: Document information embedded
